Just wondering if the club ever decided on putting up a new Windsock pole or anything, the pattern arrow is out there now, I know some people mentioned the windsock pole because of the way it just flops over, maybe if everyone is in favor we can have it changed by out flyin to look more steady and neat, but we can just mention this at the next meeting, Jonathan G.
It is a little flimsy, for sure. Having hit that pole before, at the time I was glad it was no larger. I hit it almost dead center (no one else was out there, thankfully.) It made a hole in the leading edge the size of the pole and the plane just went round and round until it landed on its main gear. I was really a "noobie" at that time and had just soloed not long before that. LOL A simple repair and I was flying again soon.
Putting a new windsock would be great. But I think we need to cut out the pole at the long end of the field (the pole where the guy shoots at us) so we can see it again. It seems to have grown into the limbs or trees down there. The only part visable is the bottom and thats if you really look hard for it. Maybe making that pole a little bigger so it would withstand the weather better?
